To understand why this technique is so powerful, let's take a look at what trauma is, how it affects our brain, and how we can tap into the amazing neuroplasticity of the brain in order to promote change.

TRAUMA

We have all experienced trauma in our lives, to some extent. Life is not always a smooth ride. This may be "big T" trauma or "little t" trauma. Trauma nonetheless.

Trauma could be defined as any experience in the past, that continues to unconsciously control our emotions in the present.

To heal from trauma, we first need to identify the beliefs created at the time of trauma that are limiting our growth.

PATTERNS

Our experiences, viewed through the lens of our perception, carve beliefs into our minds as to who we are, who others are, or the way we believe they perceive us.

If these perceptions are not quickly corrected, we are, on an unconscious level, set up to create and recreate unhealthy patterns that run throughout our lives.

Thus, patterns in our thinking, lead to patterns in our lives and relationships. By living by those patterns, beliefs and expectations, we create our own reality. We effectively "reap what we sow".

THE EVER-CHANGING BRAIN

In order to heal and grow, we aim to replace former limiting thinking patterns with new, healthy pathways in our brain. That sounds simple. And yet, why is it so challenging? Simply put, because most of these beliefs are quietly controlling us from the depths of our unconscious minds.

Changing our beliefs changes our reality

The good news is, we can change our brains. This is called neuroplasticity.

Through dialogue and careful use of innovative tools to facilitate the creation of new neural pathways in our brains, we can identify our beliefs and consciously replace them. We get to choose what we believe, one layer at a time, thus changing the course of our lives. Changing our beliefs, changes our reality.

  • Identify the perceptions that lead to those feelings.

  • Edit the perceptions in accordance with your principles, using Perception Repatterning Technique™

  • Repeat.

Will this change who I am?

Change can be both exciting and frightening.

We go through life trying to strike the right balance between permanence and change. Unfortunately, we tend to hold on to our trauma and allow our experiences to define who we are. At the same time we aspire to be liberated from the emotional turmoil we experience.

However, we are more than our feelings. Emotions do not define us, they teach us. The way we make sense of our experiences allows us to choose how we want to feel, act and move forward. We are no longer slaves to our emotions or to our past.
